Press Release for 3/1/23 Community Festival with Beanie Sigel


Good Morning Friends of CODC,

On March 1, 2023, the City of Dreams Coalition & the Social Music Movement will be teaming up with a diverse collective of community leaders, organizations, philanthropists, educators, businesses, and elected officials for a Celebration of Life Festival for Philly’s Fallen Soldiers from 10am until Midnight with a non-stop job & resource fair. This Philadelphia-based collective is committed to The City of Dreams Coalition’s mission to end generational poverty, decrease violence in our city, and dramatically improve the quality of life for those in need.  The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for countless organizations  to engage with the set of demographics that are in much need of jobs and resources.

 

CODC will honor victims  of gun violence and their families that are left behind to grieve throughout the day as we kick off with a press conference at 10:30am,  hearing from those that lost their loved ones, survivors, community leaders, elected officials and others that will united and will speak up  The community festival will be led by our drum lines, dance teams, auto & bike clubs and a special battle of the Deejay’s highlighting their skills on the 1’s & 2’s.  We are hoping to have everyone join us for this epic citywide festival which focuses on supporting the families of gun violence victims. The goal is to strengthen and support families that have lost their loved one, honor, memorialize, and celebrate their lives through art, music, and fashion. The occasion promotes comfort and healing for the traumas families face due to losing a loved one. 


This Community Festival, hosted by Shelly Shell Williams, Chris Kennedy, DJ Ant Liva , Trizzy Da Mouth and Zarinah Lomax, will be led by our drumlines, dance teams, a star studded fashion show with well  The main concert will feature: .

10:15am-10:50 pm Press Conference - Several influencers, victims and their families, elected officials,grassroot organizations and artists against gun violence will stand in solidarity as we share testimony of how our lives have been impacted by gun violence and many other issues that plague our communities across Philadelphia,
